Same Day Emergency Care

Dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly—and when they do, timely care is essential.

At Center For Dental Implants, we prioritize same-day emergency appointments whenever possible. Our schedule is intentionally designed to accommodate urgent needs, allowing us to evaluate and treat the issue quickly before it worsens.

When you arrive, our first step is to understand what you’re experiencing. We may take digital X-rays and perform a focused exam to identify the root cause of the problem. In many cases, treatment can begin the same day to relieve discomfort and stabilize your oral health.

Seeking care early can make a significant difference. What may start as a minor issue can quickly progress into a more serious condition without proper treatment. Our goal is to provide fast, effective care in a calm, supportive environment—so you can feel relief and clarity right away.

Severe Tooth Pain or Infection

Severe tooth pain is often a sign that something deeper is happening, such as infection, advanced decay, or inflammation within the tooth.

Common symptoms may include:

  • Persistent or throbbing tooth pain
  • Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers
  • Swelling in the gums or face
  • A bad taste or odor in the mouth
  • Difficulty chewing or applying pressure

Infections, including abscesses, can develop quickly and may spread if left untreated. That’s why prompt evaluation is critical.

Treatment will depend on the cause of the pain and may include removing decay, addressing infection, or performing a root canal to save the tooth. If an infection is present, antibiotics may also be prescribed to help control it.

Our priority is to relieve your discomfort while addressing the underlying issue to prevent it from returning.

Broken, Cracked, or Damaged Teeth

Teeth can become damaged due to injury, biting down on something hard, or long-term wear. Even small cracks can lead to larger problems if not treated quickly.

Common dental injuries include:

  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Broken teeth from trauma or pressure
  • Lost or damaged fillings, crowns, or bridges

Treatment depends on the severity of the damage. Minor chips may be repaired with bonding, while more significant fractures may require a crown or other restorative treatment to protect the tooth.

Addressing damage early helps prevent complications such as infection or further structural breakdown. Our goal is to restore both the function and appearance of your tooth while preserving as much natural structure as possible.

Urgent Extractions

In some cases, a tooth may be too damaged or infected to be saved. When this happens, an extraction may be the best option to protect your overall oral health and prevent the issue from spreading.

Urgent extractions may be needed for:

  • Severely decayed teeth
  • Advanced infections that cannot be resolved with other treatments
  • Fractured teeth beyond repair
  • Problematic wisdom teeth

Our approach to extractions is careful and patient-focused. We prioritize your comfort throughout the procedure and provide clear guidance on healing and next steps.

When appropriate, we’ll also discuss replacement options—such as dental implants—to restore function and maintain long-term oral health.

Emergency Root Canal Care

When infection reaches the inner pulp of a tooth, emergency root canal therapy may be needed to relieve pain and preserve the tooth.

This treatment removes infected tissue, cleans the inside of the tooth, and seals it to prevent further infection. In many cases, a crown is placed afterward to restore strength and function.

Emergency root canal care is often recommended for:

  • Severe or persistent tooth pain
  • Swelling or abscess formation
  • Sensitivity that does not go away
  • Infection caused by deep decay or trauma

With modern techniques and anesthesia, root canal treatment is more comfortable than many patients expect—and it can provide immediate relief from pain.

Other Dental Emergencies

Not every dental emergency looks the same. If something feels wrong, it’s always best to have it evaluated as soon as possible.

Other common dental emergencies include:

  • Lost or loose fillings, crowns, or bridges
  • Broken or lost dentures or appliances
  • Gum injuries or swelling
  • Sudden changes in bite or tooth position

Even if the issue seems minor, it can quickly develop into something more serious without treatment. Early intervention allows us to resolve the problem more conservatively and prevent further complications.

If you’re unsure whether your situation is an emergency, our team is here to help guide you and get you the care you need.
